I love trees ...
They are living, breathing things. They take in nutrients and water and gases just like we do. They are sensitive enough to respond to stimuli ... heat, cold, lack of moisture, differences in amounts of daylight. They continue to grow as long as they live, and may also grow in response to negative stimuli such as fire, lightning, and foreign objects. They also have enormous amounts of energy within themselves.

Devotion to Energy ...
In the roots of a tree I can see the energy that moved through them nurturing feeding and growing the tree almost like an umbilical cord connected to the earth. Each set of roots has its own unique design, beauty, and spirit. That is what I see before I begin to carve - the shape the roots took and the spirit inside. Its limitless - beyond imagination

Using - Finding - Drawing - Channeling - Creating ...
Most of the driftwood I find is cedar because of the density and water resistant quality of its red heartwood. It endures much longer.
I love carving and creating a unique piece. In this occupation, I receive back as much and sometimes even more energy than I put in. Its a thrill to enjoy someting this much and have it support you.
